The project P.L.A.Y. was designed to last 24 months and to be split in 2 stages:
"Learning" phase, containing one research of traditional sport games and the Online Library containing the results of the study will be realized in an offline and online version
"Playing" phase, during which 8 sport teachers and coaches will be trained on traditional sport games from the 5 participating countries and will organize national sport events for youth facilitated by the participants at the training.
Main Activities:
Developing the research regarding traditional sport games in participating country
Creating the online library / offline catalogue (OL/OC) of traditional sport games from each participating country
Developing an international network aiming to further discover and promote traditional sport games
All partner organisations will be asked to make databases for high school partners and high school events guests (coaches/athletes/trainers)
Developing the training dedicated to the 8 sport teachers or coaches from each participating country which will connect and empower them for promoting traditional sport games is another innovative aspect
Objectives
Developing a positive attitude of teenagers engaged in the project towards traditional sport and games
Promoting traditional sport and games activities as a tool for supporting good practices in a non-competitive sense, as well as a cultural heritage and social inclusion
Increasing the knowledge and skills of 40 sport teachers and coaches from the participating countries (8 for each country) on traditional sport and games through a training session
Creating the basis of a network of organizations prone to increase physical activity, especially among young, with a focus on promoting traditional sport and games for a healthy life-style and a non-competitive behaviour in spending leisure time
